Wheel alignments in Landsborough

Laser alignment on state of the art gear. It pulls the steering straight, stops uneven tyre wear and gets the full life out of the tyres you paid for.

Straight steering, even wear, longer tyre life.

Alignment is the angle each wheel sits at relative to the road and to the other wheels. Out by a small amount and the tyre scrubs sideways every metre you drive, which quietly eats a set of tyres months before it should.

We set camber, caster and toe back to the manufacturer specification and centre the steering wheel, then show you the numbers before and after. It is the cheapest thing you can do to protect a new set of tyres.

  • Four wheel alignment

All four corners measured and adjusted, which is what most modern cars need rather than a front-only set.

  • Front wheel alignment

For vehicles where the rear is not adjustable. We still measure the rear, because it tells us what the front has to do.

  • Camber, caster and toe

Set back to manufacturer specification, or to suit a lift kit where one is fitted.

  • Steering wheel centred

A straight wheel on a straight road. If yours sits off to one side, that is the alignment talking.

  • Before and after figures

You see what it was and what it is now, so you can tell what you paid for.

  • Steering and suspension check

Worn tie rod ends, ball joints and bushes will not hold an alignment, so we check them first and tell you what we find.

Signs your car needs an alignment

The car pulls to one side on a flat road. The steering wheel sits off centre when you are going straight. The tread is feathered or worn on one edge only. New tyres are wearing far quicker than they should.

Any one of those is worth a check. All of them together and you are already paying for it in tyre wear.

What knocks an alignment out

Kerbs and potholes are the obvious ones, and the hinterland has plenty of both. Corrugated dirt roads, heavy towing, a hard hit into a gutter and general wear in the steering and suspension all move things over time.

Fitting a lift kit or a lowering kit changes the geometry by design, so an alignment is part of that job rather than an extra. Same after any steering or suspension repair.

Locals keep coming back for a reason.

Wheel alignments, questions we get asked.

  • A good rule is every 10,000km or once a year, and any time you fit new tyres, hit something hard, or have steering or suspension work done. If the car is pulling or the steering wheel is off centre, do not wait for the interval.
